I've been fascinated for a while by the original Batman look so thought I'd ape it in a re-design.

Shorter (sports) gloves, pointed side ears and square shoulders with a plain bat symbol. Wanted some blue in there so went with an eerie kelp colour. Darkened up the belt with the same colour too. And with him being a detective he'd need his fingers free to handle clues etc. So, either transparent latex fingers (like surgeon's gloves) or dark tinted. Another thing I was thinking was rubber tips and under fingers. So it's like an extra dextrous grip.

The suit is a ribbed design similar to the one used in The Dark Knight but it's actually based upon this suit here (link).

Have to say that I'm not a huge DCNu fan (though I'm loving the Shade and Batwoman), so here are a few different entries: Starman (incorporating elements from five different Starmen!), a DCNu-tweaked version of a recent Power Girl pic, MIA Flash Wally West (dodgy art, apologies) and characters designs for Alan Scott, Jay Garrick and Wesley Dodds of the JSA...

As threatened, here's my Rogue I've been working on. Original sketch was unsalvageable (what the hell's going on with that figure/pose?!) but I quite liked the face so this week's thread prompted me to erase the body and start over. I tried to keep Rogue slender and while I love the current costume, I removed the X motifs so keep her more distinct. Not perfect but happy with this one...

Cocked up this Cyclops pic: all the background elements were drawn separately and assembled in Photoshop, though Professor X got deleted somewhere along the line (not that you can tell from this mess). You can't really tell, but this is supposed to be Hugh Laurie as Sherlock Holmes: thought it'd be a nice mashup as House is essentially Holmes in the modern age but as a doctor (Holmes/House is a brilliant deductive mind but with an abrasive personality, drug problem, stringed musical instrument and Watson/Wilson to bounce off of)

I love Studio Ghibli but nothing really jumped out at me screaming to be drawn. In the end, i went with Nausicaa meeting Totoro, which I thought was a nice positive eco message...tried to keep the characters on model but Nausicaa doesn't really look right and had no time to do anything more than flat colours so actually, this is pretty crap but all I could do with the time i had!
